5 Reasons Why eBay Is Not Great for Selling Wedding Items

If you have wedding items to sell Wedzee is hands down the best platform to sell them. Though eBay can serve as an especially useful platform to buy and sell items for many people, we strongly recommend Wedzee for any items specific to the wedding industry and here’s why:

  • Wedzee is dedicated exclusively to weddings, eBay is not. This means hundreds of thousands of people looking for any type of product search eBay. While you may think this brings great exposure to your items, it does quite the opposite. The great array of items buries your wedding objects and makes it less likely they will be found by a shopping bride. On Wedzee the entire website is devoted to wedding dresses, décor, and event items. Every listing is relevant to a bride-to-be. On eBay planning brides must sift through loads of listings that are nonapplicable.
  • Wedzee offers browsing functionality that caters specifically to brides by offering the option to search by color or category. eBay does not offer this specific functionality. On Wedzee users can browse products and pictures for inspiration, as well as like, comment and share them. Though eBay does have many different categories to shop, weddings is not one of them. Nor do they offer the ability to browse by color — an important feature for wedding planning.
  • Wedzee’s social media channels are filled with numerous featured products, wedding inspiration, and planning tips. Social Media plays a large role in the browsing and shopping experience for brides. Social Media also brings exposure to product listings. eBay’s social media is not tailored to wedding décor, dresses, and inspiration. The images seen on social media can greatly influence a planning brides’ taste, preferences, and decor ideas. While eBay’s social media platforms are flooded with colorful and fun pictures, they are not at all wedding related or inspirational to planning brides. The reason this is so important is because 89% of brides browse Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for wedding planning ideas. They are much more likely to find an eye-catching photo, design, or ad from Wedzee that draws them to wedding shop than they are to click through onto eBay for wedding shopping.
  • Posting items on Wedzee is quick and easy and can be done right from you cell phone in less than 60 seconds. The listing process on eBay is long and daunting. When you post an item for sale on eBay, the process includes lots of drop boxes, clicking to multiple screens, and at least 3 minutes (even up to 5 minutes if you are not yet familiar with how eBay’s shipping options and policies work). Wedzee keeps it simple and fast.
  • Listings are always free on Wedzee. We never charge to list and your listings never expire. eBay offers free listings up to your first 50 items then charges fees after that for each additional item. Listings on eBay also expire after 90 days. If your item(s) has not sold after three months on eBay you have to login and relist the item. Wedzee eliminates this altogether by keeping listings live on the site until they are removed by the seller or are sold.

Wedzee is simple, efficient, and targeted directly to brides making it the ideal platform to list your wedding items. So why wait, start selling today!
