Wedzee is built to be user-friendly and easy to both shop and sell wedding items. Whether you just got married and have a pile of items to unload, or are an artisan interested in setting up your own storefront on Wedzee to generate sales, we have some tips that will help you sell your wedding items.

  • Take really great pictures. Make sure they are well lit, clear, and showcase the entire item. Stock photos are permitted if you also include your photos of your actual item in the listing. Many brides use the professional photos from their wedding in their listings. When you shop online the images can make or break a buyer’s decision to add to cart. Make sure to lure your shopper in with beautiful photos, not deter them with poor ones. I also recommend including many different photos, from different angles, sides, showing the tag if applicable, and any details on the item(s) so the buyer has a full understanding of the item and its condition.
  • Use very detailed descriptions. Once the picture lures a shopper to click into your listing, they will read the description. If their questions aren’t answered they may click to the next listing and continue to browse so capture them with crafty and descriptive words while they are already on your page! Include all details you can think of: size and/or dimensions, materials, colors, display details (ex: a sign has a hook for hanging, stand for propping, needs a frame to display, etc). Be sure to disclose any wear and tear to the items. A defect doesn’t mean it won’t sell but prepares the buyer for exactly what they will receive. Wedzee guarantees transparent shopping so be honest and upfront to all buyers.
  • Fill in your profile. When signing up to sell there is an optional field to write a description. Most sellers click past it without putting any thought to it. Take the time to write about your wedding or your shop, this will make the buyer more comfortable purchasing from you. For example, mention you were married in March with a rustic theme and your items fit a dusty blue and lavender color scheme. Or if you are an artisan and are looking to generate repeat sales then I most definitely recommend putting in details such as you’ve been crafting homemade wooden signs from your workshop for 8 years, and each one is packaged with care.
  • Utilize the Price Drop Feature. Once your item is live, edit the item to reduce the original price by 10% or more and it will alert all engaged users your item is on sale. Anyone that has liked, commented, or shared that item will receive both an email and a notification in their Wedzee profile to jump on this great deal. This brings interested shoppers back to your listing and puts it in their inbox with an easy “Buy Now” option.
  • Share your listings on social media. There is an easy share button under each listing. Share items to your personal page or wedding groups on Facebook bringing them even more exposure. Planning brides are often browsing social media for inspiration so placing the link in front of them makes it very easy and accessible to purchase.
  • Be friendly and responsive. When potential buyers engage with your items by asking questions make sure to respond in a friendly and timely manner. If you are quick to respond they know you will be quick to ship their item after it is purchased, too.
  • Collect great user reviews. After a successful sale thank the buyer for their purchase, wish them the best of luck for their upcoming wedding, and request a review. Your reviews and overall rating will show on each of your listings, which builds more trust and confidence in shoppers.
