So What is Wedzee?

Congratulations on your recent engagement! Now you’re ready to start wedding planning and if you’re like most brides-to-be you don’t even know where to begin. The process can be overwhelming but if you start by selecting a few key elements you can tie them into a unified theme. I have a few suggestions on how you should navigate this process.

Your first step is to turn to the internet for inspiration. Search pictures and browse around to see what catches your eye. Wedzee, Google Images, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram will be your best friends in this process. You can simply search for keywords such as “wedding centerpieces” or “wedding décor.” Make sure to pin, like, or save any images that you absolutely love.

On Wedzee it is easy to shop by category or color, both functions are conveniently located on the homepage. If you haven’t selected your colors or don’t know which category to start with, then simply browse new arrivals (this can also be found on the homepage). Click the heart under any image that you love, enabling Wedzee to save it to your profile. Once you have a collection of images (aim for a minimum of 20+) the next step is to review these images to look for similarities. Maybe you have a lot of glitter and glam or are loving the rustic burlap vibe. Be sure to look closely at each photo for repetition in color, lighting, draping, florals or table décor. These repetitions are the keys to narrowing your options to a theme that best suits your taste.

After you have narrowed your likes to some common elements in the photos, conduct a separate search for these specific elements. For example, shop by the color you saved most or search “mason jar wedding décor” or whatever other elements you found yourself drawn to. Selecting your style and theme will be more of a browsing process rather than a search process. Have fun browsing for inspiration and get excited envisioning these elements coming together for your big day!

Common wedding themes include beach, vintage, travel, garden, winter wonderland, romantic, and modern. However, the sky is the limit with themes! You don’t have to pick from any preset list, you can simply piece together different aspects that fit together and make up your own. Your theme can also just be your color scheme. Monochromatic color schemes are really trending now and can be classy and beautiful. Whatever theme you decide upon, carry those elements into all aspects of your wedding. Design truly is in the details and some minor touches will pull your whole theme together. This simply means that all the small things are just as important as the larger things. For example, you can incorporate your color scheme into your invitations or use themed stamps to mail them. You’ll also likely want your cake topper to either match your colors or stay very neutral. I would encourage you to select the larger items first such as centerpieces, linens, and your dress, then shift focus to the smaller items to compliment them.
